This summer the royally beautiful peonies will again be on display at the Latvian National Museum of Natural History, inviting visitors to enjoy the wonderful variety of colors and scents, as well as to learn more about the cultivation of these flowers. The exhibition "Peonies 2024" will take place from June 13 to 16, and for the second time it will be organized by Elita Zvingule, owner of the "Ķesterciema peonijas" collection garden, in cooperation with other collection gardens.
In Latvia, peonies are an old and very popular flower culture. Since the 19th century, they can be found in almost every garden, while the selection of peonies began with the regaining of the country's independence. Recently, people's interest in peonies continues to grow. It has always been one of the most anticipated summer flower exhibitions. This year it will feature more than 200 varieties of peonies.
The participants of the exhibition "Peonies 2024" are: collection garden "Ķesterciema peonijas" and Elita Zvingule, collection garden "Silvijas peonijas" and Silvija Jaundžeikare, Vineta Briška-Kambala from Kocēni, Lidija Brice from Pelēči parish as well as peony collector Aleksejs Ivanovs (AlexFlowers).
During the exhibition, it will be possible to be advised on peony varieties, cultivation and breeding as well as how to choose the best peonies for your garden.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, June 13 at 12.00 in the exhibition hall on the 2nd floor.
