After a four-year break, the royally beautiful peonies will again be on display at the Latvian National Museum of Natural History, inviting visitors to enjoy the wonderful variety of colors and scents, as well as to learn more about the cultivation of these flowers.The exhibition "Peonijas 2023" will take place from June 15 to 18, and for the first time it will be organized by Elita Zvingule, owner of the "Ķesterciema peonijas" collection garden, in cooperation with other collection gardens.
In Latvia, peonies are an old and very popular flower culture.Since the 19th century, they can be found in almost every garden, while the selection of peonies began with the regaining of the country's independence.Recently, people's interest in peonies continues to grow.It has always been one of the most anticipated summer flower exhibitions.This year it will feature more than 200 varieties of peonies, including Early Glow, Golden Wings, Vanilla Schnapps, Blushing Princess, Double Friend, Lady Gay, Yellow Bird and many more.
The participants of the exhibition "Peonies 2023" are: collection garden "Ķesterciema peonijas" and Elita Zvingule, collection garden "Silvijas peonijas" and Silvija Jaundžeikare, collection garden "Zīļu peonijas" and Inese Karule, collection garden "Madaras" and Edgars Bite, also Lidija Brice and Vineta Briška-Kambala as well as the National Botanical Garden.During the exhibition, it will be possible to be advised on peony varieties, cultivation and breeding as well as how to choose the best peonies for your garden.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, June 15 at 12.00 in the exhibition hall on the 2nd floor.
